[ Just a scoff and look of disbelief as Jayce says that. ] Doesn't it? Especially now. [ Because, you know, she has a gemstone and a gun so that's not exactly good. Viktor would never forgive her if she harmed Jayce that much, is certain. But Viktor's worry is also certain with how laid out it is on his face.
His expression softens, however, and he stiffens ever so slightly with Jayce's movements and pressing his head against his own. Viktor's eyes look away momentarily as he feels just the brief amount of heat on his cheeks. His exhale is soft before he finally looks back at Jayce. ]
Outlining the importance of why that would be a terrible idea might change their minds. [ He mumbles as he continues. ] At least see some reason, perhaps? Knowing that it could potentially be dangerous for the future of our world...and this one.
[ And with that Viktor nods and gives a noncommital hum of understanding and acceptance. His eyes were looking at his ungloved hexcorized hand as he turned it as if in examination. ] We are products of our environment, all of us. I suspect she has grown up with the thought that she can be nothing more than a destructive force, good at only one thing. In Zaun such things were commonplace, though I was never exposed to it. I faced a different sort of judgement and thought. Never to amount to anything because of my disability, but I had my parents to help me.
[ They were no Silco either. ] If she had the right environment to flourish, I've no doubts of what she could create. As it stands, her talents, her intellect, they are being wasted on tools to harm instead of tools to do good.
[Compared to the prospect of trying to explain to Sevika and Vander that Jinx using the gemstone for anything at all could have potential reality-destroying consequences, maybe just letting Jinx shoot him isn't the worst idea. No idea Viktor's going through some sort of moment of wistful desire right next to him.]
I can try.
[It's all he can do right now. And if that doesn't work... he'll have to escalate. If not by stealing it back, then by doing something even less advised: obtaining his own gemstone for them to experiment with. He keeps that to himself. No need to alarm Viktor with his idea, if plan A works.]
And Silco only encouraged that idea.
[Her name's Jinx, for Janna's sake. Of course it would fit his motives and agenda to have a child that only believed in her ability to destroy. Whether or not he's right in his fight against Piltover's oppression of Zaun was entirely separate from the way he chose to raised her. Nature versus nurture, a specific topic of philosophy Jayce very much fell asleep during whatever class that was taught in. Viktor's parents teaching him to struggle against what people think of him quite literally changed the world, and now that he thinks about it, he's never met them. If they're even still around...
With an exasperated sigh, Jayce leans his head back against the wall and looks up to the ceiling.]
It can't be something we suggest to her. She'll do the opposite of whatever we ask. Maybe there's someone else- not Vander and Sevika.
Someone with...no affiliation to our world, then? [ Viktor sighs as he nods as looks at Jayce before looking away. ]
It's a leap, but it might prove more effective. [ But therein lies the problem. ] We just have to, ah, figure out who has made such an impression that could help us discourage her. No pressure, really.
[ What do they do? Put out an anonymous survey on who knows her? ]
We know a few things about her already that might make this easier. One: she isn’t subtle. If there’s someone she’s close to, it should be pretty obvious at some point. The only reason she was kept hidden from Piltover for the most part before Progress Day was because of staged coverups. And I doubt, even with Silco here, he’s going to put resources behind hiding who she’s friends with.
[He’d be wrong, of course. Silco would definitely do that. But Jinx once out of the box, is very hard to put back into the box.]
So we just keep an eye out. Hopefully whomever she gets close to, they’re more open to reason than she is.

[ Such a waste is what he thinks. ]
