He's no stranger to it, thanks Jayce, but he might be a bit stiff upon first-time touches.
⯌ Mental Contact I'm down for it with plotting!
⯌ Flirt Please do but also please don't?! He has so many issues with regard to his appearance and he's really not even looking for that sort of thing but it would make for some great threads hehe.
⯌ Fight I mean he'll probably never start it. Please don't fight him, he will die???
⯌ Injury Sure! But plotting it first is obviously a thing.
⯌ Death Rather leave this up to plotting and stuff. My guy has died 3 times in canon please give him a break??

It also works on a fundamentally different level as well with Viktor being able to go into a person’s mind via a sort of astral form of himself and help cleanse the person’s mind while also being able to see their memories – this is most easily seen with him going into Vander’s mindscape and trying to separate him from the beast form that he’s been melded together with no thanks to Singed and his experiments.
Mind control/manipulation: As stated previously all the people that Viktor heals or has touched are susceptible to him having access to their minds. He’s even able to draw them into a large astral plane (shown in the final episode with everyone he’s connected to being illustrated by golden threads). On top of that he is able to hijack a person’s body and control while the person’s whose body he is in exists separately from when he takes it over (seen in the episode where he takes over Salo’s body to communicate with Jayce) is also appears that the person whose body he takes over can actually hear his conversations as well.
Please read through the listed powers provided and let me know if you'd like to opt out of any future interactions with Viktor and him using his powers on your character!

What Did Your Character Wish For? To achieve his and Jayce’s dream of bringing hextech to the common people.
What Potion Did They Receive? Scarlet Potion
Did They Drink It? Absolutely not
If Yes, What Element/Animal? Electric
Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon, or who is someone they miss the most and why?
The person that Viktor is most bonded to would be Jayce. Reason being is because in canon they’ve both actually saved each other multiple times in the past. Working together as partners to bring hextech to the world in order to make it a better place for those in need requires some degree of trust and companionship. Jayce is also one of the only people shown to at least acknowledge Viktor as equals instead of how most people look down upon him due to his disability and being from Zaun. Viktor’s own situation vaguely resonates with Jayce as being an outsider that no one believed in, much in the same way that Jayce was when his research was confiscated, and he was removed from the academy. In that singular moment Viktor saw himself in Jayce so much so that he stepped in to help Jayce not take his own life but to prove to people that he was, in fact, right and his research had merit. Viktor fully believed in it and put even his own life/future on the line to help Jayce prove it, if that’s not a bond I don’t know what is. But, also, on a deeper not Viktor and Jayce affect one another is all timelines and parallel universes, so intertwined are their destinies that should one fail it results in the destruction of the entire world.
2. What are they most afraid of and why?
Viktor’s fears stem from his illness and being unable to complete his dream. As an altruistic person and someone who only wants to help others dying from his illness before he can even have a legacy or be known as someone who has helped the less fortunate is a fear that he’s often seen dealing with. It’s one of the main reasons why he goes to such drastic measures with the hexcore so that he might have more time to create and help people. His desire to do good impacts his willingness to survive and do whatever is needed to survive even if that means messing with the natural order of the world around him.
3. What are their emotional, mental, and physical weaknesses and why?
Emotionally Viktor’s weakness comes from his unending and abundant altruism and the want and need to help others. It fuels his passion and love for science and eventually hextech which he hopes in the future will be used for good and to make the world a better place. Unfortunately, this leads him down a path that winds up being the complete opposite and his need to do good is twisted into something sinister and dark. Another emotional weakness is that, well, Viktor isn’t very prone to expressing his emotions at all. Due to his place in the world Viktor hardly shows his true inner emotions and is often more than not stoic and reserved. However, when he does express himself he’s often seen as being rather direct, and sarcastic at times. But the reason for his repressed emotions stems from the fact that he’s been nothing but an outcast his entire life whether it was in his youth with his leg in the Undercity or currently in Piltover being from Zaun and considered lesser by the vast majority of people there. He’s often overlooked and disregarded in general. It’s easily seen as he’s only an assistant to Heimerdinger because the other took notice of his talents, without that he’d probably not have even gotten that far.
Mentally his weakness are due to his ambition and the need for him to not only do more but to be more in the sense that he crafts and has a legacy for himself when all is said and done. His ambition leads to a recklessness that causes him to go to drastic lengths sometimes to achieve his goals such as overworking himself until he collapses and continuing to work on projects for the sake of his own health ie: the hexcore incident. But ambition is not his only weakness, resentfulness over how he’s treated in Piltover and never taken seriously or has his input measured in anyway, even if he was the cofounder and creator of Hextech. But he resents the fact that The Council refuses to help his people in Zaun, and he resents Heimerdinger for trying to stop Jayce and him from giving their inventions to the world as a means of helping. His other weakness mentally ties into the fact that he’s been different his entire life and has always been at odds with how people perceive him, especially in Piltover. We see subtle instances of him having some self-deprecation and hatred even towards himself due to his own disability. Such as when Jayce asks him to come up with him to give the Progress Day speech and Viktor declines mostly because he knows how the higher class would see a man from the lower class of the Undercity and one with a visible disability at that.
Physically his weakness stems from his obvious poor health with his leg and his disease that is terminal and with a poor prognosis.
4. What discrepancies are there between their inner self (who they feel they are) and their outer self (how they present themselves to others)?
Outwardly Viktor presents himself as a stoic and rather aloof individual. His sarcastic remarks and biting truthfulness all paint the picture of a man who isn’t exactly unapproachable but someone who takes time to understand and get to know. Seemingly uncaring about anything other than his work, as his devotion and time spent in the lab paints this picture for us, couldn’t be further from the truth. He seems at odds with most people outside of Jayce and few others making him appear as a loner of sorts.
However, internally Viktor is just a man who wants to help others and achieve his dreams of bringing his people in Zaun a future they can look forward to. While he seems uncaring and unaware of other people’s problems, he does notice them and tries to help in any way he can. One of the best examples is in his preventing Jayce from leaping to his death after Jayce was banished and his research was to be destroyed. Viktor didn’t have to but he talks Jayce down which proves that he does care and does believe in the other and his dreams for hextech. But his commitment to others, like risking his own future to break into Heimerdinger’s lab, is further proof that he is and always was someone who wanted to do good and help others. The flashbacks we see of him as a young boy getting visibly upset at Rio’s suffering is just another instance of showing just how heartfelt and caring a person he is.
5. What would make them happiest and why?
Seeing his dream fulfilled and the union of Piltover as whole. But also seeing a world where the Undercity and people less fortunate get the help they need. Hextech being used to further his own understanding of the arcane and use it to give people hope would make him happy. Being able to continue his research into the arcane and hextech to improve lives is one of the biggest factors to his happiness but also being able to see his work through and live long enough to see the efforts of his work.
6. What characteristics does someone need to have to be your character's ideal significant other?
While Viktor doesn’t find himself appealing to anyone for this to be a consideration someone who can keep up with his intellect, wit, and ideologies would be best. Seeing his imperfections as something other than that and never judging him for them is something that would be ideal as well. Someone who can see him for who he is and appreciate all the flaws underneath that make him who he is. An ideal partner would be someone who is scientifically inclined and easy to throw ideas, concepts, and thoughts at. But he would also find himself drawn to someone who doesn’t pity or focus on his health and disability since Viktor is a very firm believer in doing things himself and that he doesn’t need people’s help when it comes to things like that.
7. Would your character make a sacrifice to save someone else and why or why not?
Viktor would absolutely sacrifice to save someone else given his nature of wanting to help others and to do good being a part of that but there’s also his recklessness that would undoubtedly fuel his choice to sacrifice something in order to save someone. Biggest indicator and show of this would of course be when he breaks Jayce and himself into Heimerdinger’s office to perform an illegal experiment on the crystals that Jayce has. Not only would this result in both their being kicked out but it would also probably have changed Viktor’s life for the worst having come from a place such as the Undercity. So he basically risked his entire future on the belief of Jayce and his work actually being something worthwhile to pursue.
8. What is one thing they would tell their younger self if they had the chance, or if your character is young, what is one thing they would want their older self to remember?
Viktor would probably tell his younger self that what he’s doing and struggling through is only a temporary test in the grand scheme of things. He would tell his younger self to believe in himself, not worry about how he’s perceived as an outcast, and that his mind brilliant as it is should always question the truth and the unknown. Fueling his desire to learn and become more shouldn’t be something to feel bad about and wanting to help others isn’t wrong if it’s done the right way. He should strive to do good in the world and create/invent things that bring himself and others happiness.
9. When in dire circumstances does your character fight, flee, freeze or fawn and how does that look?
In dire circumstances Viktor would absolutely fawn as is his nature to understand and study things even if a threat. He does put himself in precarious situations time and again as shown with the hexcore and even going to the Undercity alone further into the series. He would at least attempt to appease or comply with whatever it is that’s causing the threat. His ‘we’re scientists not soldiers / there’s always a choice’ talk with Jayce later into the season really imparts a sense that he wouldn’t undermine the threat and would absolutely flee if needed but he would also try to understand what the cause is and what the best course of action would be before ever suggesting to fight.
10. Why did your character make the wish they did?
He made his wish because that’s his and Jayce’s dream and it’s what he most desperately wants and clings to throughout the show. His poor prognosis only exacerbates these feelings of wanting nothing but to help people and give magic to the world. But there’s also that lingering selfishness of wanting to create a legacy for himself so that his contributions might be remembered in some way. Ultimately he’s a dying man that wants to have accomplished some good in his life before he inevitably succumbs to his sickness. But in the grand scheme of things Viktor wants to achieve his dream and his wish is directly linked to said dream.

canon: Arcane
age: 30s
canon point: End of Season 1
history: Here!
abilities:
He has no abilities to speak of besides his genius intellect and knowledge of techmaturgy which involves chemistry, engineering, physics, while coupled with magic.
personality:
Viktor’s core personality is that of a driven, innovative, altruistic scientist and he is also one of the more grounded, realists in the show. Just like most people Viktor has his faults and Viktor’s come from his unending and abundant altruism and the want and need to help others. It fuels his passion and love for science and eventually hextech which he hopes in the future will be used for good and to make the world a better place. Early in the season, it makes him the more guiding of the two between himself and Jayce, often steering the other man towards the choice that is right regardless of the thoughts of others. Another thing about Viktor is that due to his place in the world, Viktor hardly shows his true inner emotions and is often seen as a stoic and reserved individual. However, when he does express himself he’s often seen as being rather direct, joking, and sarcastic often at times lacking in reading/understanding social cues due to his introverted nature stemming from his childhood. Viktor's personality is also a product of his circumstances. Growing up in Zaun with a disability, and now living in Piltover where they know his roots are from Zaun causes friction between Viktor and most people in Piltover. He is considered lesser by the vast majority of people there and is often overlooked and disregarded in general which has led to his reserved nature. His being overlooked leads to another fault, his ambition and driven nature. Both of these lead him to not only want to do more but to be more in the sense that he has a legacy for himself when all is said and done.
However, his ambition and driven nature lead to a recklessness that causes him to go to drastic lengths sometimes to achieve his goals such as overworking himself until he collapses, stealing Jayce's notes, breaking into Heimerdinger's lab, and even going so far as to use Shimmer on himself in hopes to give himself more time before his illness catches up to him. With mentioning of his death it’s also his fear of dying without a legacy coupled with his recklessness that leads to the untimely death of Sky, something that Viktor himself cannot reconcile with and was going to take his own life over. As someone who has been reckless before and has not suffered the consequences of his actions, this was a very big wake-up call for him as his actions didn’t just affect him but killed someone else.
Viktor’s resentfulness/anger is another trait we see throughout the season. He resents the fact that The Council refuses to help his people in Zaun, and he resents Heimerdinger for trying to stop Jayce and him from giving their inventions to the world as a means of helping. But most of all he resents the fact that Jayce seems to choose Mel’s words over his own to use Hextech as a weapon.
Viktor's personality also stems from the fact that he’s been different his entire life and has always been at odds with how people perceive him, especially in Piltover, but also in Zaun. Singed refers to them both as 'being outcasts together' specifically because of Viktor's disability. But this difference creates Viktor's resilient, and confident nature where he has no choice but to believe in himself because no one else will. This also leads to him being a bit prideful and arrogant. However, when having to contend with things like his disease and disability we see subtle instances of him having self-deprecation, insecurity, and even hatred towards himself due to these facts.

SUITABILITY:
Viktor meets the age requirements for the game being older than 15. But I also believe he’s a good fit for the game as a whole because much of his character arc in season 1 and in season 2 is him battling with his own vices and virtues. Viktor is a character that is heavily driven by his own desires to be more than just himself and to cure himself of his perceived failings. Within the game setting it would be interesting for him to have to acknowledge his own wants and desires while also navigating through his self-deprecating nature towards his own body and how he feels towards people seeing and also perceiving him. Viktor is also contending with the fact that he has just been freed from the all encompassing mind control of the hexcore which weighs heavily on his consciousness since he was responsible for brainwashing and drawing people into a hivemind collective as The Herald. All of this compounds on itself making Viktor wary that it might happen again and under the influence of something just as insidious as the resort it may just.
HISTORY:
Viktor is first introduced as the assistant to Heimerdinger, the chair of the academy in Piltover and also the head of its Council. He comes to find Jayce, whom he has arrested and is put on trial for illegal and deadly experimentations, and his work intriguing and almost a springboard towards something that will help benefit people. The night after Jayce’s trial and banishment from the academy Viktor revisits his destroyed apartment and saves Jayce from taking his own life. This is the first of many significant character developing moments Viktor will have. He states that if you want to change the world you shouldn’t ask for permission and that same night they both break into Heimerdinger’s office, successfully initiate magic through one of the many gemstones Jayce had in his apartment and the two essentially begin their partnership together.
7 years later Hextech and the Hexgates are fully functional and during progress day a gemstone is stolen by Jinx from Zaun. In that same moment a significant story arc for Viktor unfolds which is his diagnosis of his terminal illness that sets course a series of desperate attempts to cure himself of his disease while also drawing him into the clutches of his creation (the hexcore) that he is slowly losing control over. One such incident is when Sky Young, his assistant, is killed by the hexcore. This event shakes Viktor’s resolve and dedication to his own cause, seeing his selfish will to live as the reason for Sky’s death. In this moment he attempts to take his life but in a similar vein to his stopping Jayce, Jayce stops him, and Viktor asks Jayce to destroy the hexcore as he is incapable due to its power over him.
Another significant moment for Viktor is in Season 2 Episode 2 when he is revived via Jayce using the hexcore on his in a stunning betrayal and Viktor learns of the weaponry Jayce is building using their dream, hextech, against Viktor’s people in Zaun to hunt down Jinx. These betrayals between the two of them continue throughout season 2 with Jayce hunting down Viktor in his commune and shooting him in the chest, effectively killing his physical body. Viktor tries to reconcile with Jayce using one of his followers but is once again denied by Jayce, setting off Viktor’s final attempt at peace where he gives away his emotions to become the Machine Herald in order to bring about peace by stripping people of their humanity which he deems is the true issue of humankind. The final and most pivotal moment for Viktor’s character is Jayce’s confession to him and their presumed death afterwards.
ABILITIES:
Healing: Viktor has the ability to heal others with his power from the hexcore. This healing works on physical aliments – where the person’s wounds are melded together with metal to form an almost synthetic metal like skin over the wound.
Shapeshifting: His alternate form the Machine Herald is his final and active form before he’s essentially obliterated. While Viktor doesn’t exactly shift between his forms I’d like to keep this in play as an ability since it might yield interesting threads in the future.
Note: All of his mind control/mind manipulating powers will come with permissions and will only be threaded out with express permission from the other party!
VICES:
Self-deprecating. One of the most prominent and core personality traits of Viktor is his ability to hate himself and his failings, most notably his health and his leg/back. We first come to see this in the episode Progress Day when Jayce asks Viktor to come up with him while Jayce delivers his speech, Jayce calling Viktor his partner to which Viktor quickly says ‘no not in front of all of them’ insinuating that he doesn’t want to tarnish Jayce’s reputation by being linked to someone like Viktor, someone who is by Piltover standards an eyesore and broken. His hatred towards his own body is also seen through his use of the hexcore and it becomes a means to an end for him to try and cure him of his self perceived faults.
Reckless. This ties directly into Viktor’s nature of being all for progress, helping people, and his own ticking time bomb that is his health. Viktor’s recklessness is introduced early on in the show by the way of the very first meeting between himself and Jayce. Breaking into Heimerdinger’s office because he believed in Jayce’s work to a fault and recklessly driving them both forward to achieve their dream together. Viktor’s recklessness doesn’t stop there but is also seen with his tampering and usage of shimmer and the hexcore. Both of which are highly dangerous and volatile in their own right. Viktor’s recklessness can be tied to his self-deprecation and ultimately his ambition and need for legacy and leaving his mark upon the world.
Ambitious. Viktor’s ambition has always been noticeable from the very beginning of the series. His ‘do you think it was my life’s ambition to be an assistant’ statement is testimony to that fact. Viktor’s drive and need for advancement and progress cannot be said enough to the driving force of his character and the way in which it thrusts him towards making the mistakes that he does further into the series. Throughout the show we see Viktor put himself on the line to further his life’s work, hextech, and even go so far as to augment himself with it to continue his work for as long as possible. His ambition coupled with his desire to help and his caring nature show us that Viktor is willing to go to extremes to do what he can for himself and for his people.
VIRTUES:
Altruistic. Another notably characteristic of Viktor and one of his fundamental characteristics is his altruism. We see throughout the show that this character trait is one of major significance as Viktor further moves along in the plot. Everything that Viktor does as a character is, for the most part, built on his need to help those in Zaun who are also suffering. It is safe to assume that he has such a profound need to help people because of his own self-deprecation and internalize ableism towards his own disability and illnesses. Even as The Herald the hexcore fed off Viktor’s own hatred of his disability and was thus used as a reason to cure and heal the people of Zaun thus turning them into vessel to which Viktor could mind control them. Viktor’s altruism was there from the very beginning where he saw Jayce’s experiments as a means to help others and provide progress to Zaun and its people. It’s a core facet to Viktor’s personality and one that we see him clinging to repeatedly throughout the show. Another reason for him to have such a need to help people might be due to his childhood and the scenes we see with him, Singed, and Rio (a type of axolotl creature). Viktor’s attachment to Rio is instantaneous and we go on to see how close and caring he is towards her. Until the day where he sees her turned into a mutation and a being that is drained of its freedom with Viktor having no way of helping her. It’s perhaps for that reason that Rio is the first being that Viktor wanted to save but couldn’t and thus created his steadfast desire to help.
Forgiving. We come to also see Viktor as a highly forgiving individual where the slights are always directed towards his person either due to his upbringing or his outward appearance usually. The biggest offender of these is none other than Jayce who on at least 3 occasions has done Viktor harm but Viktor winds up forgiving him for his transgressions. The first instance would be on the bridge connecting Piltover to Zaun where Jayce essentially calls those from Zaun dangerous knowing full well Viktor is from there. This not only sows the seed of doubt in Viktor, but also brings to light Jayce’s true feelings towards Viktor’s people. Despite all that Viktor remains by Jayce’s side and even goes so far as to attend the council meeting meant to broker peace with Zaun and Silco. Viktor’s forgiving nature is also readily shown in season two when he is killed twice by Jayce, revived without his consent using the hexcore, and all the while Viktor learns to forgive the other man despite his transgressions towards him.
Intelligent. Most notably what Viktor is seen as throughout the show. He is one of the brightest minds in Piltover next to Jayce. His contributions to Hextech and its creation stemmed from their first meeting when Viktor suggests increasing the oscillations of the crystal instead of dampening them, which results in the two of them unlock the key that opens the door to hextech. Viktor’s brilliant mind is seen throughout the series with his creation of the hexcore being his magnum opus but he was also the creator of the Hexclaw, an arm that had a laser attachment for artificers to use. The hexcore is essentially like a supercomputer that converts magically runes into actions. It has an unlimited potential in what it would be capable of doing and is one of the many profound pieces of hextech created. It’s also suggested that Viktor was deeply involved in learning about runes and in season 2 Jayce makes inference to this fact but stating Viktor’s Wild Rune versus regular runes theory to Ekko and Heimerdinger. Viktor’s talk with Singed in the commune is also a peer into his brilliant mind as their conversation is about evolution and how the glorious evolution is meant to supersede humanity.
SUIT REQUESTS:
Hearts: I would choose hearts as my first choice for Viktor because it contains some of his biggest and most prominent failures. Viktor is a man that is often depicted as having a shadow casted over him by none other than himself as his self-doubts and self-hatred. He is emotional but barely opts to show it. His yearning for Jayce and obsessive nature over the other in the second season is easy enough to see and we come to also see the result of Jayce declining his advances, Viktor removing all emotions from himself in a rather dramatic display depicting the agony of rejection. Playing on his insecurities and anxieties over his own body especially post-canon would be something that could eventually lead to his growth of accepting himself as who he is and allowing himself to want and to yearn for the people he desires. But also playing on the canon fact that he was without emotions for months and now must navigate through feeling them again is something that would interesting to pursue.
Clubs: The suit would also be a rather good fit for Viktor considering his post-canon transgressions dealing with altering the minds of thousands of people and taking away their agency to an extent. This suit also plays upon Viktor’s vice of being reckless and opting into situations that would otherwise be dangerous. It would play well into his guilty conscious post-canon too, allowing for him to act impulsively which goes against his otherwise restrained nature. Viktor is a deep thinker more or less and keeps his thoughts firmly locked away from prying eyes. Having him tap more into his impulsiveness and fixations might lead him down a darker path, something akin to his time as The Herald or while in his Astral form. Having to contend with these thoughts and desires would be interesting to play around with. But also having Viktor be plagued by nightmares of the herald and the internal struggle that he’s so guilt ridden over would be an interesting development.
RANK REQUESTS: I’m open towards something at the top since it really conflicts with Viktor’s own history of being seen as nothing but another bottom dwelling Zaunite from the slums. But it would also make him uncomfortable given his time as the Herald and holding a position of power.
